Memo

Privacy.

Short and in plain English. What Memo keeps, where, and why.

Draft, to be reviewed. This page describes how Memo works today and will be revised before it is final. Last updated .

Your documents

Your PDFs, and the notes you write into them, are stored in one folder of your own Google Drive (My Drive/Memo by default, or the path you choose), or only on your device if you pick “Use on this device only”. Memo has no server that stores your documents. Nothing you write reaches us.

With Google Drive, Memo asks for access to your Drive so it can read and write the PDFs in that folder. Memo never creates, moves or lists anything outside that folder. Google’s own privacy policy applies to what Google stores.

Sign-in

Signing in to Memo uses Zitadel (OpenID Connect). Memo receives your account e-mail address, your name and, when available, a profile picture URL, to show who is signed in and, later, to authorise calls to Memo’s own services. Sign-in tokens are stored on your device only.

Payments

Payments go through the App Store or Google Play; Memo never sees your card.

On your device

Memo keeps device copies of your PDFs for offline use, a search index of their text and your notes, the last page you read in each document, and your settings. All of this stays on the device; you can remove device copies from the Sync center.

Analytics

This website and the app may use PostHog, hosted in the European Union, to count visits and see which screens are used, and only when analytics is enabled for that build. It never sees the content of your documents. Today, analytics is off unless a build explicitly turns it on.

Contact

Questions, or a request to delete what little we hold about your account: contact@waiyer.com. Support, or something that does not work: support@tadata.codes. Memo is made by waiyers.
